Lifetime of polyester cards is more than 10 years. Polyester cards, after more than 100.000 bendings, stay intact. Polyester cards are very resistant to solvents and scratches.

To laminate the polyester cards no special conditions are required. The personalization can be done in colour with the D2T2 (dye sublimation) or with a special laser for the black and white.

The benefits of this type of laser are:

- very high resolution
- 3 times faster personalization
- the black created for the personalization is a chemical reaction of   special pigments and not by destroying the polymer itself as done   by the CO  laser
- the writing ability onto the polyester card by the special laser can   be blocked by transferring on top of the card can not be modified
- very fine text or codes can be integrated, that can not be   reproduced by normal printing system

A special holographic ghost image can be integrated in the card with the same laser during laser engraving of the picture.

The color picture, if required, can be made by using standard thermo sublimation system (D2T2).

OPS, the ultimate solution for passport datapage protection, is constructed as super-thin polymeric membranes which are specially formulated for infilling by colour laser printers: after welding these membrane on data page, it becomes practically impossible to alter personal data without destroying it.
